- Women back then were raised very differently from today and that was to be one thing, a house wife. They were taught that they were only good for and supposed to cook, clean, take care of children, listen to whatever the husband said, and to have dinner ready by the time the husband gets home. Katherine Watson views women as equal to men. Not a lesser being but the fact women can achieve or do whatever they would like. She believed that women were meant for than just being a simple housewife.
- From my understanding, the word subversive is it means to undermine the power and authority of an established system or institution. For example, how Ms. Watson did not follow the syllabus she was given to teach her class with. Also how she deliberately disobeyed some of the key rules at the University. This is clearly some of the main reasons why Betty called her subversive.

Good job Mason. Katherine Watson wanted to make sure the girls knew they were meant for so much more than just being a housewife.
ReplyDeleteWomen were certainly raised quite differently then. Today, women are all about working, being involved, and having something to say. This is a very stark contrast to what it was like back then. Today, the housewife job does not appeal to many people.
